The fourth chain should be between the crank and the balance shaft on the lower right side of the engine. If it's not there, it is highly possible that your engine was replaced with a mustang or 2wd ranger engine.

Oh really!! Ok yea because all the videos i see show a 4th small chain on the front bottom right side of the engine. But mine doesnt. But you said that its possible it was swapped with a 2wd? because the truck is 4wd.

Yes, should be on bottom right (passenger side when looking from front of engine). If you’ve looked at videos then you know what it should all look like. I’ve read a few threads where guys have used mustang or 2wd replacement engines in 4wd’s with no ill effects.

10-4 yea ive looked over and over and its not there. But have you or know how hard is it to install the timing chain kit and set the timing? Because i seen a video of a guy setting the timing by making his own cam tool? Or if i payed someone how much would you charge for labor? Its my first time pulling out an engine and doing this kind of job and i am only doing it myself because i would like to learn and it is so much money to take it to a real mechanic.

The only advice I have is: buy the OTC kit, then watch every video you can. It is doable for the average guy with some experience. The kit makes it much more “fool proof”. Lots of good help available here, too
