Truck Not Starting

I have a 2003 FX4 with 104,000 miles on it. It doesn't start. It is turning over but then nothing happens. This happened last week and just happened to start after about three days of trying. I drove it for a few days, everthing was fine, it started everytime I shut it off.
Then, I stopped by a friends house. When I tried to leave about three hours later, my truck would not start again. It runs fine if and when it starts, idles perfect. I recently replaced all the plugs and wires, so that isn't the problem.
Please Help! I gotta get it out of my friends driveway, His wife is already complaining!!

Do you hear the fuel pump prime when you're having this issue?

try resetting the fuel pump. that may at least kick start it again... but you have a fuel issue from the sound of it

I just changed the fuel filter, fuel pump relay, and reset the fuel pump, and still nothing. I am gonna have to call a tow truck.

Just got it towed home, Now what? Is the bed easier to take off or the gas tank?? Should I get the thing from Autozone and see if any codes are coming up first?

Try having someone hammer on the gas tank with a rubber mallet while you turn the key. That'll jump start the fuel pump if that is what is giving you issues.

Fuel pump might not be producing enough psi to start, check pressure, if not go get your codes run.

start with the basics. go check your codes first before you do anything else. it could be something stupid telling the fuel pump to shut off

umm, your ganna have to start by checking fuel pressure, and ranger4.0, his truck won't start so he would have to find someone with a code reader cause they won't let him borrow theirs. lol

scanning codes is basic diagnostics... and you can buy a scanner for under $100 and they work on any OBDll vehicle! start with the basics everytime. it ensures you fix it right and dont have to spend tons of money on unneeded parts

You need to go back and read what he said, first of all the pump still works, I didn't say it didn't and neither did he, I said it might not be producing enough psi......
Second, you said he should do basics and save money, well going and buying a diagnostics scanner is not saving money. Basics would be trying to figure out little things like if the pump is working like it should by testing fuel pressure before he goes and spends money on an "unneeded" scanner, plus he can do it at home. That's saving money

If it is not producing enough psi, what does that mean? Is the pump shot is something clogged??

It means the pump is not producing enough pressure to pump the right amount of fuel to open the injectors, which in that case the pump is shot. The only way to know for sure is to check fuel pressure. Then you can go from there
