Check the IAC. According to my references, P1506 is Idle Air Control Overspeed Error. Also Idle Air Control RPM higher than expected. Sound like checking the IAC valve and cleaning it would help.

I have a 99 Ford ranger 4.0 that just threw the same code I could have cleaned out the idle air control but I just decided since it was factory to go ahead and get a new one, and it works fine now.

Well well after buying a new air intake control valve it was fine for the day and running better and it still is running better but the codes come back even though I've erased it a couple of times now what should I do
