The 4.0 SOHC PCV is on the rear face of the driver side valve cover. It has coolant heater pipe around it. Unscrews 1/3 turn CCW to release it. Removal is not as easy as it sounds. Blame the EPA because they mandate "positive retention".

You have to have the right one. The last time I bought one for a 4.0, it was around $18 from the dealer.

I just got it from NAPA. Took like 20 min to change. I didnt relize that metel loop has antifreeze in it till i pulled a hose off and got shot...Well ended up just swapping the valve and leaving the orignal pipe thing.

The one i pulled was VERY greasy and gunked up. Glad i changed it. Put still couldnt get the fuel filter changed, even with the tool...oh well try later...

Thanks BOB!!

It heats the PCV to keep condensed water from freezing inside.

If you wait until the engine is cold to change the PCV valve, you will have very little coolant loss when the hoses are disconnected.

okay, good to know for next time. i changed the fuel filter too, finally got it off. I couldnt get 2 hoses off with the quick realse tool. Took some pliers and squeezed the ends and the popped right off.
