Will only start in gear
Is this truck actually in D when it starts?
If you move the lever up or down, will the trans go into R and D respectively?
I just read this in an aftermarket manual. I never knew these existed as such.
The DTR (Digital Transmission Range) Sensor reads where you put the lever and sends that info to the big brain.
I assume it's at the base of the lever, in the steering column, but it could be lower.
If that's your problem, Rock Auto has 'em.
See here: https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...ge+sensor,4584
Also, how many miles are on it?
What's its general condition?
Any info regarding price would be interesting.
