Hello everyone, I am new here but I have a question. A buddy of mine has a 351 5.8L with an automatic out of a 93 f250. I do not know if it is a cleveland or windsor. My next question is how hard would it be to throw into a 1993 ford ranger 2wd? The ranger has the 2.3l 5 speed. Thanks guys!

351 is doable but extra modifications would be needed

The 302/5.0l is a better fit, at 19" wide, heater box is tight but it fits

The 351 is 21" wide and that extra 1" on each side matters.

You can cut out and reform the heater box after 2.3l engine is out
Also the exhaust headers need to be custom made, I don't think there are any off the shelf models that can fit because frame rails are in the way

You still need a manual trans, M5OD-R2, from a 1997 to 2003 Ford F-150 2WD with 4.2l V6 engine, yes V6, the 1997 and up 4.2l V6 used the "small block windsor" bellhousing pattern, so will bolt to the 302 or 351 engines
Your current 2.3l M5OD-R1 won't fit and also wouldn't handle the extra torque, the M5OD-R2 will


Computer and fuel injection or carburetor?

 

It's a Windsor. Clevelands were never put in trucks by Ford. And the last ones in the USA were in 1974 vehicles.
