6.0 Powerstroke in a ranger
Had to get the wife some new tires on her Lexus. Apparently 34K miles is all you get out of a set of Good Years these days! We left my truck there and went to run some errands while they found an alternative tire.
Was all ready to pick it up today, but, I swapped to the 05 front cover, and as it turns out the water pump is larger, and I had forgot, so I have to get a water pump tomorrow, and a few odds and ends, but the motor is done for all intensive purposes.
Here is is without the heads, and yes its upside down still.

Got the water pump today, but the delaership did not have the Oring I needed for the HPOP, the filter screen for the oil valley, and some how a bolt went missing for the power steering, and they didn't have that either. The heads are decked, added a few angles and ported, just waiting on my valve springs.

Oh yeah, and I got the wiring hooked up from the batteries through the shutoff to the engine compartment. Gonna change the routing of the positive lead over next to the negative lead, and use the hole where the Positive line is now for the nitrous line. I didn't like how it looked.
Finally found some, stock springs have a seat force of 87, that will force the valve open at about 50 PSI. These have a seat force of 122, go ahead and try to blow that open. They are ungodly expensive and I still have to have minor shims made. The heads will be complete this week, and finally the engine will be ready to drop in. Freaking custom parts!
The good news is that I can run my planned 65 PSI boost and not have to worry about smacking valves. Oh yeah, wonder what a 6.0 sounds like at 5500 RPM's?
The quest for 1000 HP just got a little closer.
