93 ranger v8 swap

new to the site, looking to to swap 302 from 87 grand marquis w aod trans. from what i have read the dual sump oil pan from the merc will work. pretty much got the motor mount and exhaust figured out just curious about what has to be done to run the stock efi. out of work so time isnt an issue but money is so trying to do as cheap as possible just to get it running.

I am working on a similar project and you will need the computer and many other things from the t-bird in order to go efi . You may need to look into fuel pressure as well as throttle body and things of that nature you may be better off getting mustang stuff

Hey Chris, Im doing the same swap on my 90Bronco2 rite now. Im using a 87 t-bird harness tho. I have a project thread going under the title SAS Bronco2 on here if you wanna follow along or chime in with your own ideas. Im documenting every step of the way to try and help others with the same swap.

I have every schematic and diagram needed to figure out all the wiring and such.

Im using a non a/c heater box with a 95 Mustang intake for clearance.

What did you use for the exhaust?

Your going to want to use mustang vert mounts and you have to run an oil filter relocation kit. Tri y headers work on your year with a t5 trans I know don't know about aod.

thanks...not useing a AOD auto though , wanta use the 5 speed trans it has now with maybe a trans-dapat platee as the bell houseing is a non-removeable... the motor only about 305 hp ....id do upgrades to the exitsting 3.0l if ya can find aftermerket parts for it ...just not sure it whould be enough bang by the time ya spent the time and bucks to cam, port and install the 500$ headers

The 3.0 trans might hold up for a while but it will give out bc it's not able to handle the power guy from Rps blew up one from a v6 mustang. If you do some shopping around I picked a 5.0 t5 with 30k for $200 and a fox bell housing for $30
