Has anyone attempted to or swapped in a Coyote into a std cab at?

 

They have been swapped into rangers multiple times. Its not cheap though.

 

Do we have any threads here discussing a swap?

 

I can't remember seeing a thread about a completed swap.

 

Ford's Coyote V8 is a bit wide to swap into a Ranger, 29" wide, exhaust would have to be on outside of the frame rails

302/5.0l is 22" wide and barely fits between heater box and steering shaft

Also the power output would require frame work, it would make stock ranger frame a pretzel, lol.

You could build a nice 302 with great power output for about 1/4 of the cost of Coyote setup

 

Thanks Ron! I wasn't actually contemplating a Coyote swap, but I love to read details about the process by those who have. I agree, Coyote would be a handful in the Ranger engine bay, not to mention the frame issue. I will probably always have my 3.0L...

 

theres a guy on the ranger station doing a thread right now i want to say the thread is called drag truck hes doing a swap in gen 1 ranger with either a 5.0 coyote or a 6.2 hes using a newer f150 as a donor

The first I have ever seen was coyote swapped 11' by BBR.

I know there is at least 2 trolling around on Facebook groups. Both 98+

I have heard of one existing south of Pittsburgh. Dont know if its true or not.

Just because its not on a forum doesnt mean they dont exist.

If you have enough money you can put it in. Its basically all custom though.

Don't give up. There are other options. A couple of days ago I saw a mid 90's regular cab, 2wd, with 5.0 badges and a Weiand Powercharger w/ scoop sticking through the hood. It did have a nice sound with that whine.

 

A coyote swap isn't rocket science, its just fab work.
buying a complete setup from a wrecked truck so you can get the trans, wiring and all the sensors would be the best bet.
