need help hurry

thinking about buying 351w and c6 trans i need info and jegs.com has a swap kit for the 302 but jamesduff.com has motor mounts that will work with both i need some help fast

351 windsor?
i think someone at one point on here said that either the cleveland or the windsor was wider and was harder to get in? or am i thinking of the 4.6?

what info do you need?

i didnt no we could fit a 351 in the ranger...i havent researched either tho.

i had to fab my own motor mount bracket with some 1/4 inch plate. then used my stock 4.0 motor mounts

He has a 1990 Ranger and there is more room under the hood and around the frame than later models. Without a body lift and a few specialty parts, a 5.8L can be a headache in a 98+ Ranger

We need to know what kind of Ranger your trying to put this in. I'm not pyschic... unfortunately... that could really help with the ladies. Haha...

Amen to that Bob! Let's see - so far I have: 1" body lift, 1/2" engine lift (to clear oil pump), custom oil pan, custom headers, custom balance for explorer 50oz damper assy with 28oz 351W rotating assy, custom cam position sensor unit, custom A/C lines, etc...

351W will fit, very similar to a 302, just has taller decks (9.5" vs 8.2" of 302). This means the block uses common front cover, but the heads sit 1.3" further from the crank. In effect, this makes the whole engine ~2" wider and 1" taller.

let me know your progress i am waiting for my truck to be shiped i have an 83 ranger and already have the 351w sitting here i know i am fixin to get in deep with this project but it will be worth it
