Icon5 Question about v8 swap.

Okay, since my crown vic got totaled and i'll have it sitting in the garage. I'm half tempted to pull the motor and trans to swap into my 06 sport. I know the frames are different so i'll have to fabricate mounts. However I also know the cross-members are in different places and i'd have to modify the frame. So, i need to know what i need to do to the front end to make this swap happen. (i'll be planning on moving my ecu over also, just reflash it for the shorter driveshaft and different rear end.)

I think you have some more homework to do, the frame will need some good bit of modification based solely on the engine width and height.

Also the wiring will be quite intense. I assume the CV has a 4.6?

I quite understand the wiring hell, ive delt with it (rewired a CVPI because the owner managed to short the ECU out). The CV had a SOHC 2v Modular 4.6

it was a F100, if it is a similar frame design i could work with it, but i'm still looking for the necessary frame mods and engine mount points to be able to do the swap. (i'll more then likely do an 8.8 rear end swap since its the same kind of rear end that's in the vics. Would just need a shorter driveshaft)

-found the ranger v8 swap.

its a different top end so i'll have a little more room for my top. The bottom end is the same size.

I'm trying to find the whole series.
