You should have a white tab that allows you to edit your post, but editing time is limited.

Here is one more picture that would not fit with the first set of pictures.

I love the look of your truck, the project seems like it is coming along nicely.

When you can send some more pictures that show the engine bay and and the Modifications you had to make for the V8 install.

Just email them to me and I will post them for you.

I will say I had issues also trying to upload them as well, when I tried the first time to upload them like I normally do I got an error claiming these uploads were missing a security token and I should contact admin.

But I ended up selecting each picture one by one and hit upload after selecting each picture until I had the ten pictures I am allowed to upload per post.

BTW I am very envious of you and your truck I am somewhat younger than you but my body feels twice your age because of my neck and back issues

There is nothing I would like to do more than get back to work and be able to build a truck like yours.

I would offer to buy it from you yet I doubt I could get in it. LOL

That's 5.0 as it sits now, oops, it sits 9/16 in higher for the headers. I didn't take pics of the swap. Wish I had. I have been asked wat amount I would take to sell it....it would be more than truck is worth except to me. I paid $8000 for it in 07. She had 29,830 or so on it. It was stock ranger but had a fiberglass cap the green color. I sold the cap and put rollbar in bed. And the rest came later.

Found out this past weekend that the shorty spark plugs r only about a 1/4 inch shorter than reg plugs. guess that's all u need to get at them. pass side I can reach all reg size plugs, driver side first cyl going from front is impossible to put socket on. the rest I could. once headers r on for good ill find out how its going to be. as for the 5.0 swap...the oil pan I got online for a grand marqouis, the oil filter is mounted on back side of front bumper support. the cai is for mustang gt but altered to fit ranger engine bay. the rad is for 98 ranger with 4.0. motor is stock...rated at 215 hp so I gained about 65 hp from swap.

The swap I probable put $3500 to $4000 in it when all done, not including the headers. the short pipe w/fittings is ext for egr bung that goes on pass side header. I'm waiting for 02 bunges and to get egr bung welded on. ten its just get it towed to muffler shop once I put headers on again..lol...then see how she runs and sounds

Here is one for u, I had a vibration in truck b4 I lifted motor. it seemed to go away when I rotated tires? the front were wearing a little odd and I hadn't rotated for a while so it was due. since I lifted engine I have a squeak noise that comes and goes as tires roll, when I start going slowly u can hear it then as I pick up speed it gets lost in engine and road noise. as I slow down it can be heard and stops as truck stops. I thought I figured it out. I thought the front driveshaft was hitting rubber seal at rear on metal and ripping it, I took driveshaft off, noise still there. only so many turning rubber things on truck..

I am just checking in with my subscribed threads before I disappear for a while before Hurricane Irma comes to kick my ***, but I noticed you have a remote mounted oil filter that seems very far away from its original location ( only because I cannot remember where the filter lives normally )

Just a reminder or information you may not know a remote mounted filter has a maximum distance that is should be mounted from the original location. Which is 1/2 the distance of the the hose length that came with the kit?

I only mention this because I would hate to see your engine get damaged over time.

If you know about this and read the instructions disregard this information but know it is also for anyone else that reads this post and is considering a similar project.

I honestly don't remember seeing that in the instructions but ill look at it and see if I'm in a good location. the oil filter was at bottom driver front of motor and couldn't stay so I got the remote oil filter setup. I tried to put it on frame rail but couldn't. hope u don't get your butt kicked by the storm...god bless

Here is a link to a remote mount kit, most are the same or similar.

http://static.speedwaymotors.com/pdf...structions.pdf

Thanks for the well wishes, I am more prepared than I have ever been for a Hurricane yet when we went through Jean and Francis back to back we were without power for over a month and a half.

I couldn't pull the shutters off after the first storm talk about hot, it got so damn hot in our house that our long unlit candles melted and folded over.

That old rickety house we lived in at the time was held together by termites holding hands LOL. At least now we are in a brick built home with shutters that simply slide open and we have a fairly large generator this time.

Thanks I am sure we will be fine I plan on taking before and after videos of my house and surrounding area like I always do before these storms.

The good thing is I live in Palm Beach county on the east coast, by the time it gets to our house if it does the wind speed should be much less than at first impact.

What I always worry about are the numerous tornados that like to pop out of now where.

I was a Automotive technician since 1985 until around 2003 when I went to work for Palm Beach county and started working as a utility plant mechanic where I worked at a 30 million gallon per day water treatment plant.

While there I worked on anything mechanical, plumbing etc.

Pretty much if it broke I had to fix it, if I found the problem to be electrical like a shorted 300 horsepower electric motor the electrician confirmed the diagnosis, disconnected the electrical then I had to remove, replace and realign the motor.

I had to work on chemical feed systems and at times I even had to design, propose a budget order all the parts and materials and install complete chemical feed systems from the ground storage tanks Plc controlled valves ground storage tanks, day tanks, pumps, lines, flow meters etc all without shutting the water plant down or plan it in such a way that the shut down was minimal.

I worked with a lot of dangerous chemicals like 93% sulfuric acid, fluoride, ammonia, chlorine, caustic.

I really enjoy that job it was very hard work and very stressful yet I was free enough to make changes to the plant to make our jobs safer and faster all while making the plant run smoother and more reliable. If the plant did not run our customers would have no water and heads would roll.

Yet It all came to a end when my multiple back and neck surgeries made my condition worse and I could no longer work.

So today all I do when I can is try to help people on many different forums.

I tried my hand at paint and body work yet I found myself to be too much of a perfectionist, as you know in paint and body work being a commission paid tech you just have to know when to just stop trying to make it perfect and paint the car yet my own guilty conscience kept me at it until it was perfect or I made things much worse which is what happened most of the time. lol

Anyways as much as I liked paint and body I enjoyed troubleshooting and diagnostics the most.

I have always been my happiest or at least most distracted when I was working with my hands and my brain.

I've driven truck to work 2 days now and so far so good. I ordered a vibration damper/u joint to put in at top in place of reg u joint. Getting some road vibration thru steering wheel so hoping the vr will help. I only feel it at cruising speeds...40 mph and up. I keep checking the setup to make sure nothing has come loose

Hey I have been busy but I did see that picture you sent of the remote mounted filter.

I could not see it very clearly but it sure looks like you have the hoses bent way beyond the recommended angle that I have seen in the instructions which would also make it too far away.

With this in mind if you have not already done so I would connect a oil pressure gauge like an Autometer gauge just to know for sure that the engine is not suffering with prolonged starvation of oil pressure on start up.

I will look into that, I have a question if u know the answer? Was told by muffler shop that will bend me pipes once I install headers. The guy knows I have no cats, he suggested I get it tuned for no cats so ecu can get fuel right. I saw on a forum a guy said running with no cats will set a code...I have only 2 codes, both for each bank running rich. Any thoughts. On this.
