Don't get me wrong, there are quite a few ' youngins ' that have come along as well that know what they are doing. Theres a very wide ' flavor ' of folks from doing suspensions, engines, trannies.. even tires..

It would seem though, those trying to pass along good information would at least have the courtesy to put things in a ' readable ' format and not ' g33k sp3@k '.


I just don't want to see someone take bad info (IE: over tightening a rocker which leaves the valve unseated and could possibly cause piston contact to it ( Not to mention a backfire into the intake manifold and wasting it or its gaskets ) from some well-intentioned individual.

I'm in the middle of doing a swap. I'm not posting pictures or writing what I'm doing to avoid confusions amongst people. I've tapped into quite a few people on here for some info I needed and even offered to have someone fly-in for a weekend. Theres things I do NOT have an answer for and have questions on, but I'm not going to stir the pot over it.

Theres MANY people whom are.. ' easily lead ' as they havent experienced certain things. Can a turbo be hooked up to any engine in the world? YES, but what all does it involve outside of cost? Time, effort, fabrication..

Theres more to doing some things then seeing it in a movie and running out and buying a million dollars worth of parts and stickers.

Just another reason to hate on the whole import scene, the idiots they breed. ' Tuners '.

I have a ' frame ' right now. Its being boxed and the entire suspension is being re-done. Theres Ranger parts all over the side of my shop.. bed, cab, fenders..

In another thread, the individual we were all speaking of stated to ' Stay away from speed shops! '.. I guess I shouldn't have had them Balance and Harden my Scat Crank , Eagle rods or Mahle pistons? Maybe I should have sent those AFR heads back to AFR and told them ' you need to re-do everything cause out of the box they are t3h sux0rz! '.

Theres a reason some of the shops in my area have been around for 50+ years and have waiting lists to use their dyno facilities whilst others sit idle.

Theres several people here whom will tell me something, and thats ' it '. I need look no further. Theres others where I take their word and run with it and do some research on my own. Then theres some whom I just breeze by what they offer.

Look at Rwenzingers ' project '. Did he do just a v-8 swap or did he also convert from a Manual ' dual-stick ' setup to an automatic as well? Exhaust issues and cat locations? The info he gained and has shared with us is an example of how attention orientated to be. Did he have some snags? Yep. Were there mistakes he probably never posted? Maybe. Does his setup work and he drives his truck daily? More then likely. Its an example of doing things right.

Brenton did a SaS conversion with Jey. Hes going from 2wd to 4wd. He has a thread with his truck on a trailor ' guess where its going ' is the title ( I believe? ) They setup the front axle just fine but there comes a point where we ALL come to that brick wall and need help/assistance/guidance.

I'm there right now figuring out the proper fuel system I need for what I plan to do. What good is a high powered engine when it doesn't have the food it needs to come to life?

Again, I'm just tired of ' ricers ' and ' tuners ' and the whole offspring of import crowd wanna-b's and their rubbish.

I plan on Hooking up with Nickster sometime this late spring/early summer to so some work on my ride. He might be 20 years younger then myself, but hes set an example with his own ride ( and others ) that he ' has a clue ' and does good work.
