Transmission swap

I own a 99 ford ranger 3.0 manual flex fuel.
Recently my engine seizedand i am looking to swap in an explorer motor and computer.
I want to keep a manual transmission so i wa thinking a tremec tko or t56 (i plan to make it a street racer)
Anyways my question is i know how to bolt up the transmission to the 302 but how do i connect it to the computer, i am completely lost?
The tremec transmission and explorer automatic are incredibly different so how will i make it work?
Please dont tell me ill need an entire new computer
Also completely off topic but while im asking questions what would u guys think of a custom 400lbs bed cover for better weight distribution?

-Old thread, my bad. Already posted. Hope it helps clear up any questions.

Right, so you’re going to want a tuner as you know for the pcm to delete the proper tranny codes. The mechanical stuff to think about starts at the back of the motor.

You’ll need:
-pilot bushing (sits in the back of the crank)
-flywheel
-clutch plate setup
-slave cylinder setup
-tranny

You may also want to install a 4.0 master cylinder at the clutch pedal if it’s any stronger than your 3.0 now. You’ll also have to figure out how the slave cylinder lines will connect. I used an M5R2 and the lines bolted up stock, but it’s also a sloppy transmission compared to a WC T5. With a t56, I’ve read that you’ll most likely need to cut and refab the tranny tunnel, unless you have a serious body lift, to get it to fit. The size pilot bearing, flywheel and clutch assembly, you will have to figure out as well, though it’s been done numerous times before and shouldn’t be too hard.

Wish ya luck
