Wats a good tranny to use with the 5.0

In my 93 stang, it had a C4 when I bought it. It's a good transmission if you want to drag because it can take a beating. I am in the process of swapping in a T-5. I wanted to have overdrive, because if you have and gears somewhatly high in your vehicle and C4 will be wrapping great RPM's to just cruise at highway speed. Since my car is a highway car, I went with the T-5.

The guy you traded blew that tranny this weekend at meet. Good stuff.

Sre you putting the 5.0L in your 01? If so, your best choice - by a long shot - is the 4R70W trans. Pick one up from an explorer V8 / AWD and you are all set. Use the explorer 4404 AWD t-case or an F150/Expedition 4406 4x4 t-case and run it. I assume you are using the explorer engine / controls / eec-v setup for the engine swap, so you already have the electronic control you will need for the 4R70W. The 4R70W is a very strong transmission and can be built to handle anything you throw at it. That is the trans I am using with my 351W / water intercooled /2.4L Kenne Bell blown engine with AWD drivetrain. You will be hard pressed to get a better trans than the 4R70W for your application.
