Wiring for 2009 ranger V8 swap
Wiring for 2009 ranger V8 swap
I'm working on the wiring for a 2009 Ranger with a 2000 explorer V8 in it.
I am trying to figure out what is the best approach to getting the thing to work. At some point along the way I have realized that the 09 wiring is a lot more different from the explorer than it was even in 04, for example. The ECU is a newer generation etc.
Is there any hope of marrying the 5.0 engine harness to the existing ranger wiring, or should I basically just rip everything apart and put 100% of the explorer wiring in the ranger and ignore all the ranger stuff (go back later and fix all the accessories with different plugs)
I've already come to the conclusion that I'll probably have to use the gauge cluster from the explorer...?
Has anyone done a swap on one of these newer rangers? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!
