2006 recommendation on new head unit

So I just bought this 06 FX4 Sport, and I would like a head unit recommendation. Dual Din, I want a touch screen, built in GPS, the works. If newer cars have it, I want it, and I have the money, so lay it on me. No unit is too absurd to consider. CD and DVD playback are great too, only for when not driving, of course.

Easiest way to shop, Crutchfield online, narrow down to a few and then shop price.

Or just go to your local car stereo store, give em your keys and pick it up at 5 all done.

Before picking a headunit, I’d think about what other audio upgrades you plan on. Do you plan on running amp/s (if so then you’ll want a deck w/ RCA preouts) Do you plan on connecting your phone to it? If yes, then you’ll want a deck capable of screen mirroring- like an Android OS or Apple Car play deck.

Sorry for answering your question w/ a question. Let me tell you why I just order a Kenwood DMX4707S. My requirements were: must be capable of screen mirroring, must have WiFi (so I could download and run apps on the deck- primarily OBD2 scanners like Torque or OBD Fusion [I love the digital dashboards], and must have good strength RCA pre-outs ( as I run my highs & mids through a 4ch, and my sub through a mono block amp). With that in mind I shopped Amazon. Long story short, I tried a couple different economical Android decks. Regardless of what deck/mounting kit combination I used the fit was never quite right (gaps and/or mounting depth Problems. To remedy these problems I decided to spend a little more and buy a brand name unit that I know & trust (just a little over $300 for the deck, install kit and backup camera). After I install the double din Kenwood deck I’ll revisit this thread with updated thoughts.

What do you need to be able to run OBD2 scanners on this head unit?

I personally dont like touch screen radios. 9th gen civic actually had a touch screen volume control and ppl hated it. I like a radio I can control by feel without having to look what I'm poking. Especially if the buttons are small. Waiting to stop at a red light to turn the volume down.
