No sound from new head unit?

Did the bad deck work sound wise? Did you hook up the ground wires on the amp plug (the green one) and or the remote wire on the gray plug. If you did hook those wires up and you didnt have any sound from the bad deck then it is probably the factory amplifier that is bad. Not the deck. If so youll have to bypass the amp. Which is typically under the passenger seat or behind the passenger seat. Also are your speakers stock? Make sure you dont have any speakers grounded out.

Im not real sure what this could be, but you could have a bad speaker or a shorted wire that is causing the headunit to go into protect mode, or there could be a setting that turns the internal amp off like my alpine does, or could be a faulty or damaged new unit..

thats cool, interesting, I never knew that. never would have thought that a cassette player would have been considered premium, but if thats the case then that is most likely the problem. probably something to do with the remote wiring or amp like you said.. by passing would take care of that. which would mean running some new wires to the speakers or at least to the wires after the amp.
