Alpine HU ?
Bought my truck used, came with an aftermarket system, pioneer speakers, and an Alpine HU. I want to wire in my ipod through the deck, and the local store here offers two products, one is if the HU is ipod ready and the other is if its not. Theres about a twenty dollar price difference, but i cant tell what my HU is. I tried looking it up online, and cant find it, its an Alpine HU CDA-9830. Can anyone help me?

According to crutchfield... that headunit did not come with the opition to direct connect the ipod. some have an extra thing u can buy to do that but not yours. you could always use an fm adaptor but usually the sound quality isnt so good. there may be other some way to hard wire it b/c it does have an aux input but dont take my word for it b/c i dont think that is possible... usually the aux input is for a changer or such. heres the details on that HU...

» CD changer controls for Alpine Ai-NET changers only
» optional auxiliary input
» 4-volt front, rear and subwoofer preamp outputs
» MOSFET internal amp

I have Pioneers as well but I'll be getting rid of those sometime soon.
