putting a CD player in 07 ranger

Hey I got the Kenwood CD player from my 93 I just sold, and I'm wanting to put it in my new ranger. I know where to get all the adapter kit stuff and can install myself but I have a small question... my ranger came with an AUX input where the old air bag switch use to be...if I put my new one in will I lose function of that AUX plug in?

thanks guys!

There is a good chance that you will. Unless your aftermarket has an aux input and it is wired from the back of the HU not where you just plug it in the front. If it can me wired in the back you will need to find the inputs from that stock input and get or make the right adpater to plug into the new radio.

BTW, what are you doing with your stock unit??

you are most likely going to loose that function. my 07 had the base model cdplayer but i know what plug you are talking about.
you could probally modifiy it somehow to work, but i think it woul be easier to get a AUX adapter for the aftermarket H/U and run it to the same location

yea... I'm wandering if there is just a AUX plug on the back of the OEM radio, then I could just plug up to new one... and for now I'm prolly keeping stock unit... cause its a good OEM radio, lol

ya the stock unit is pretty good, only thing i would do if i kept the stock unit is run the speaker wire to the Hi-inputs(?) on an amp and run an amp to the door speakers, even the stock speakers sound real nice with more power. it was a GREAT improvement when i ran my stock speakers off my pioneer headunit.. and way better when i put jl's in and an amp lol
