The width of the actual enclosure in my truck is 49"..as in full width of a sheet of MDF. With the trim panels I think its around 51".

just realized i havent put mine on here...

its a rockford fosgate p3s 10 inch shallow mount. its in a custom box..powered by a 1800 watt visonic amp...got the amp for really cheap and when i got it i had 2 800 watt 12's..its 2 channel but i have my 600 watt r/f hooked up to one with every thing on the amp turned down halfway...at 4 ohms its 600 rms x2..my sup is 600 max and 300 rms so it turned down half way.....kinda ghetto but between my amp and sub and box i have about 200 into it...and i got every thing brand new with a warranty...so

nothing yet, just stock alt and a everstart maxx 1000ca batt with 0ga hyperflex
i have enough of it left to do the big 3 but i didnt bother since i dont get any dimming at all and the volt gauge only moves a hair even with the lights on and ac at full blast.

wow, lol i have a sundown 1500 with a kinetik 1400 in the rear with 0 gauge knu flex and my voltage drop is insane, i have the big 3 with 4 gauge wire, i'm getting a mechman alternator this weekend for it though..i'm surprised your drop isn't bad with 1200 watts

i'm thinking something along the lines of these, I want to keep both rear seats, anyone be able to judge the sizes of these subs?

i have pass airbag AND 2 power points :D 07 FTW

what is the purpose of the capasitors? like a stinger cap, for instance... and do I need one, the components i own, and might use all or none of are: 1x Clarion purple series amp (don't know the specs, but the clarion rep who was at a car audio shop for an open house said to me about it "i don't know much about them, but i'll tell you one thing, they are better than any of the amps i have in my show trucks" for subs 2x 10" MTX and 1x Crankienstine 12"

I am planning on using the 2 10's under the jump seats and the amp under the passenger seat

my amp is similar to this one, same line (except about twice the size)

In your first quote those are 8s, in your second that's a 10 I'm pretty sure. Try and get the model number off of the amp then just google it. That's what I always do, I usually find reviews and forum posts for it.

Capacitors hold a charge for a short while so they can assist the battery and alternator in providing extra power when the bass hits. I'm not a big fan of them because I'd much sooner upgrade my big 3 and/or alternator and battery if it's not up to the task. A capacitor is like a bandaid for inadequate wiring or a weak alternator.

I would hook your stuff up then measure the voltage drop when your stuff's at full volume.. most likely you'll be fine. If not I would first do the big 3 which upgrades your truck's power delivery, get a higher-current alternator, or, get a cap.

define "big 3" for me, that's a term i've never heard before

also, on the stock 07 fx4's with this HU... are there audio outs on them? or would i have to jerry rig something to work? i know i have an audio in, i can't tap a sub to there, can i? :D
