Factory sirius antenna to aftermarket stereo...
Factory sirius antenna to aftermarket stereo...
Hey guys wondering of anyone has a solution to this... I installed a kenwood Exelon into the ranger but since I cant connect the sirius radio antenna into it how did anyone do it??? My stereo is ready for the sirius but no antenna wire?? Just wondering if any of you got sirius hooked up in an after market stereo and how did you do it using the factory antenna.
Not familiar with this model
Does it have built in Sirius tuner, if so then it will have a Sirius antenna plug in on the back
AM/FM antennas can't work for Sirius signals
Many Head units are Sirius "compatible", which means you can plug in a separate Sirius tuner(with antenna) and control it with the head unit
The Sirius tuner is just a box that goes under the dash

Yes it's got the plug in the back ready for it. Just cant figure out where the antenna wire is on the little box under dash compartment and I doubt it would reach the extra 2 feet to my stereo unit. Just wondering if anyone found a way or maybe a cable extension not sure.
Still confused
Sirius antenna can be mounted on the dash or outside the cab, users choice, outside is better
There is no "little box", just a wire from the antenna to the "radio"
Yes, you can get Sirius antenna cable extensions
Vehicle antenna seen here: https://shop.siriusxm.ca/iSynApp/pro...ductId=1287488
You need separate Sirius antenna

My truck has it installed from factory. I took the other stereo out and put a kenwood that has the plug reciever for sirius antenna. The antenna is on my roof goes to a box under my passenger side dash. I'll need the extension I believe.
That box is the Sirius tuner most likely, so yes unplug the antenna from that box and plug it into your new radio, use an extension if needed
You could remove that extra tuner if that is what it is
Watch this video and see if that looks like the "box" you see
