Icon5 FIRST SUBWOOFER SYSTEM HELP

Hey guys,
Okay, so this will be my first system in ANY vehicle. So, given the circumstances I have made my situation just this much harder being as my cab is so small. So, my "grocery" list is as follows:
Rockford Fosgate P3S-1x12 Rockford Fosgate P3S-1X12 Sealed Truck-Style Enclosure With One 12" Punch Stage 3 Shallow Subwoofer
Rockford Fosgate PBR300X1Rockford Fosgate PBR300X1 300W RMS Mono Class BR Punch Amplifier
Kicker DPK10 Amplifier Wiring Kit Kicker DPK10 (09DPK10) 10 Gauge D-Series Power Amplifier Kit
Rockford Fosgate PEQRockford Fosgate PEQ Remote Punch EQ Wired Remote bass/treble
Kenwood KDC-155U CD/MP3/USB Head Unit with Scosche dash kit and wiring harnessKenwood KDC-155U CD/MP3/USB Car Stereo w/ iPod & Pandora Support
List also includes Head Unit removal tools, 4 foot of 12 Gauge OFC Kicker Speaker wire, Scosche AUX3FR FLATOut 3.5mm AUX cord

Okay, that is my list, I have spent many hours looking, measuring, snooping, shopping, searching for systems like this in a Ranger but to no avail. Now, I don't want to blow this $470 investment just to hate it and not like the sound of it. Now, I am looking for something that will have good SQL and will also have a big boom seeing as I am working with way less air space in my cabin. I'm not talking earth-shaking, window breaking, impregnating bass, but a solid thump to go along with my already sub-par mids and highs that are the ford factory speakers (4 6x8"s).

Now, lets hear your opinions guys! Good, Bad, Waste, Champagne on a Beer Budget?

Thanks fellas,
Will

Personally, I modified my radio bezel a little to fit a true double din unit that has gps and DVD with Bluetooth. I had one unit before it and ever since I got the first one, I wanted a touch screen, so in my opinion, look into getting a nice double din head unit with all the extras so you won't have any "I wish I would have got that" thoughts.

Get rid of those stock speakers. They suck. An aftermarket head unit and 4 new speakers sounds crazy better. Pair them up with your list you have, and you should be pretty happy.

x2 You'd be surprised what a headunit and decent aftermarket speakers can do.

Thanks guys, but the problem is I have $500 for the sub system (which I'm ordering this week) and my whole list = $491. But, I will be saving up for some good 6x8's, what do y'all recommend? And if I get them, should I get a big set with high rms to match to a 4-chan amp or just a set I run off the headunit?
