$500 = 2 Alpine Type R 12's, Power Accoustik 2400w amp, custom vented box

Look on crutchfield and sonic electronix.com
cruthfield can be overpriced alot
I got my subs from a Ebay store brand new 2 for the price of 1
Look for a good sale going on

I also have a $300 DVD headunit up front

All in all i love it all to death! It slams!

thanks for the input guys, really helps out a lot.

I was looking at just putting some speakers in the front first, i'm going to be baby stepping my system since i'm young and can't spend a lot of money.

are these too much?

You want what you would pay or what I paid?

You'd pay ~$2200.

I paid 200 for my Alpine head unit like 6 years ago now but it's made it from my Nissan to my truck, 110 for 4 Pioneer 6x8's, 200 for a Kenwood amp and I have like 300 in the subs for boxes and all.
eBay = no guarantee that you will get good service and god knows the hoops you will need to jump through if you need to make a warranty claim.

Crutchfield has amazing customer service and provides factory warranty for everything they sell.

AMEN! Just because it is cheaper doesn't mean it's better!

yeah crutchfield does have the best customer service i may have ever dealt with. For speakers though i may just grab those for $50 instead of paying $100. i'm poor.

Check out this site I have bought many things from these guys. They buy new equipment test it and then sell it. Most of them change out there entire systems at least every 6 months. I have over $3,000 in audio equipment in my other truck and spent a little over a $1,000 on it buying from these guys.

You ask a good question... maybe I don't want to think about it!

Pioneer Premier Deck: $200
6x8" Rockford Speakers: $80
6x8" Pioneer Speakers: $50
12" Kicker Sub: $155
Dynamat Extreme: $250
Audiobahn 4ch Amp: $130
Alpine Monoblock: $200
4ga. Kicker Wiring Kit: $100
8ga. Scoche Wiring Kit: $35
Optima Battery: $180
Misc. Connectors, etc: $30

Total scary amount never before calculated: $1410

That might be a little high, but I'd say it's within a $100 of what's currently in the truck.

I put the cap in when I still had the Motorcrap battery, and just see no reason to take it out now That I'm running an optima and don't need it. Besides, I like being able to monitor the trucks voltage right inside the cab.

Impressive!

I just totaled up my Surround sound system at home and it's not that much. Klipsch bookshelf speakers and an SVS Sub.

If Klipsch only made car speakers.

Sony CDX-M3D1 Full Color Head Unit with 30GB hard drive option = $450
Here is the Head unit
Alpine Type R speakers= $300
Q-Logic Ported Box = $75
Alpine Type R 12" = $275 i believe
Sony 10-Disc CD Changer= $75
Old Alpine 1500w mono-channel amp =$250

So roughly $1025 into the stereo
