Just bought new speakers.. advice needed?

Hey again guys, so I just bought a pair of Kicker KS680's to replace my factory door speakers in my '94 single cab. I've been reading around the net, and have been getting conflicting opinions on whether or not you should amplify your door/rear speakers and not just your subwoofer.

I currently have a Memphis PRD 500.1 amp and a 10" Memphis sub to go with it, but I can't figure out if I should buy a 4 or 5 channel amp so I can hook up all my speakers to it and not just the sub. Is it worth it, or should I just use the amp I have now for just my 1 sub and leave the door/rear speakers alone and not amplify them?

I just got really interested in car audio recently, so I'm not too tech savvy as of yet, anyone have any advice to a novice here? Much appreciated all.

I would run an amp to them, they will sound better. At the least, amp the fronts as the rears are mainly for fill.

absolutely amp them... a 100w rms x2 would be good if not more..you will coax the bass out of the speakerss with an amp.

agreed. don't bother with the rear speakers they are worthless in a properly set up system.

DIYMA.com is a place i frequent for my audio knowledge.
hang out there for a few weeks and you'll pick up quite a bit of info.
