I've been needing new speakers for some time now and have never been happy with the stock ones. I still have the factory 6-disc HU and really dont want to give it up at this time. For now i can only replace the front speakers.

I was looking at some 2005 Pioneers.

I've heard sensitivity is important when using a stock HU with low power like ours. Is that true?

 

not bad, i have alpine 6x9,thay sound good

 

I've been looking around and I think I'm going to settle on either Diamond D661i (6.5 convertable component system) or Alpine SPX-137R (TypeX 5.25").

I want some that:
1) Are Bi-ampable
2) Can handle 100W RMS
3) That will fit in the doors...ha....ha.....

 

Those are all nice, but since college will start for me soon i cant see myself spending over $100 for just two speakers.

 

both my buddy and I ended up buying a set of MB Quart DSE 216s from onlinecarstereo.com and they were only 80 bucks. I used them for rear fill in my ext. cab, as he used his for the front of a mercury mystique. They sound GOOOOD!!!

 

there is only so much you can get from HU power

 

i got polk db series and i like them so i say check them out and see what u think.

 

ive got those speakers but 3ways and i love them, they hit really hard and sound really good with my HU only putting 50 max watts to them, once i get them amped they should sound really good...
