ok i searched the threads and found no good answer and i looked for you tube videos but could not find the part i need
i removed my base antenna and disconnected the coax cable from all the interior holders,
cut the base off, split the cable housing, cut the old coax out and inserted and secured the new coax with electric tape
removed that little metal clip also that i guess was to keep it from pulling into the cab??
i am trying to fish the new coax by pulling the old into the cab but when the new connector hits the firewall it stops
cant see hole, do not know what to remove next. this flap on top allows no access.
is there any other way than to remove the dash????
Put a light(trouble light/flashlight) at the antenna's hole and then look inside the cab for the light, that should help you see where wire needs to run.
Doubled up antenna wire won't fit thru the holes.
Try attaching a Pull String to the old cable and pull the string thru with old cable, then attach new cable to pull string and pull new cable in.
"Pull string" can be string or small diameter wire
Use dish soap on new antenna cable, it acts as a lube when pulling it in, rubber insulation has high friction
