speaker/sound issues

well my front left speaker hasnt been working for awhile but that hasnt bugged me much until my back right speaker started acing up. if you crank up the volume really high you can kind of hear the speaker but nothing more than a whisper (both are doing this).

i have checked and its not the speakers so it must be the wiring im guessing. a friend suggested that ill have to rewire the entire trucks sound system but that doesnt sound fun and i dont know where to start. i had my stereo deck put in by

im new to working on cars and such so i dont know alot. any ideas how to fix this problem?

thanks alot for any help i may receive

what kind of head unit do you have? if its an after market, it couls be that the wires wernt connected that well. happened to me, and i just checked the connections, and then it was fine.

how can you tell the connections were fine? did you take off the heat shrink tubing or electical tape? (however they hooked them up.) i would also check the actual speaker connections to make sure they aren't loose. the speakers could just be starting to blow, or already blown. when you turn it up really loud, the woofer could be moving a lot and drowning out the sounds coming from the tweeter possibly. i would try replacing the speakers, and if the same problem occurs, just run a small amp
