Proubly going to answer my own question. When my truck is running, My components make a whining noise to the sound of the engine. I have Radio shack Rca's and like 16 guage speaker wire. That is proubly do to the fact of cheap rca's and speaker wire.

 

bad ground could be a cause..

are your RCA's next to your power wire?

 

not exacty sure. i gotta tear up the carpet. they may have moved

 

Check all your grounds and the location of your wires. It sounds more like alternator whine due to an open ground loop to me.

Back the **** back dude! When and where must you show me "where I act if my system is the ****???" Huh? I beg to differ with you, and my system is by far not the best. I'll say again BY FAR NOT the best. Back the **** off. I don't need D!cks like you trying to say **** that is not true. Heres what you can do, You go do a serch and show me where I am offically bragging about my system, being cocky or what not and I'll bake you a damn cake. If i remeber yeah I say its loud and blah blah blah. But you show me where I said or think its the **** and is sooooo much better than everyone else!? yeah as cheap as the wiring may be, it might not need replacing with better quality stuff (just yet).... it sounds like you've got either a ground loop or alternator whine.... both can be fixed by resecuring your grounds (or moving them) and making sure your signal and power wires aren't running along with one another.

Ok yet again, I'm waiting to see where I am ACTING like my system is the ****? Correct me if I'm wrong ok. But I said "Is a 145db ANY GOOD" So therefore I'm not acting like anything. It was a stat with a question I posted. So here, from now on, do some reserch (like I said before) so that way you don't look like a dumb a$$ when posting. Because I never act like my system is the ****. If I did I would not ask any questions and I would not bother with A$$HOLE Like you. Granted yeah, you sometimes give advice in a REASONABLE manner. Most, you do not.

Theres no reason to be ignorant here. Im looking for a good piece of advice, Not A$$HOLES! So once again, Find me where I think My system is "all that". Please by all means. Just be less of a smart *** and a hard *** on the computer. It doesnt make yourself look good and it embarrassing for you.

Hey bud...i have a pretty huge system in my truck and i use the $$$ wires doesnt help much for the fact i still get the whinning noise your not alone!! and its not always the wires fault...theres 1 of 2 ways it can be fixed.. i used ground loop isolators made my scoshe for like 10$ each and plugged my rcas into them then plugged them into my amp..the noise went away 100% and i found is the easiest...second i was told by Certified radio here ( HUGE stereo building place) to run the ground wires from the deck and such to where your grounds are for your amps and make sure the amps have clean chassis grounds...i changes my sub amps..2 1000watt...to direct chassis grounds and i get no ground noise...the 5x7 amp i havent had the chance to change yet but the ground loop isolators are easy! if you want a pic let me know and i can send a pic of my set up...any questions ask..i know where your comin from.

 

quest i wanna show you my system, its nothin badass but id like you to hear it, my back window is comin unsealed, think i can get it resealed better somewhere?

while ground loop isolators may help and work, they're merely a band aid for a problem that could be fixed with a little reorganization and moving around (and no $$ spent). if you've got time Fletch, i'd first recommend taking a good look at your wiring and check to see that everything is sitting straight. it'll save you a few bucks in the end if you can figure out whats going on without resorting to the ground loop isolators.

 

trust me ive tried...im gonna attack attempt number 4 tomorrow to make it go away..and if it doesnt work then i give up and ive spent WAY to much money on thei system already and i aint about to buy another set of $$$ wires when they didnt do a thing the first 3 times.. and there not a band aid they actually work..sometimes the noise just doesnt go away and theres nothing you can do with it? so you use the next best solution and still get 100% amazing sound.

 

So back to the original question "Why is there whining in the sound"??

The answer will most likely be that your power wire to your amp is on the same side as your RCA cables. I have wired my 3 cars over the past few years becuase I am cheap, and interested in sound. I had good systems and bad systems. When I did wire my power cable from my battery and my RCA's on the same side, there was the most noise. Then when I switched the power cable and remote turn on wire to other side, the noise practically went away. I have also tried wraping the RCA's in foil, YES FOIL FROM THE KITCHEN. That helped as well. That pretty much took away the noise. But it could just be the car too. Some cars just have lots of interference.
