Headliner falling down
Headliner falling down
The fabric headliner on my 1996 Ranger XL is sagging from the ceiling. Is there any way to re-attach it without removing it? Should I just replace it with something? If so, what?
Have to remove it and use spray adhesive.
Although in an old full size chevy truck I made some nice wood trim pieces and ran them side to side from door to door across the middle of the cab, lol.
Actually didn't look to bad, dash and doors had the fake wood already.

Had the same problem with my 2006. Headliner was separated from the backing. Had a local interior shop replace the headliner for $150. Did an awesome job looks like new. Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and get it done right.
I just replaced my headliner myself. I had to buy 2 yards of headliner fabric and 2 cans of 3M spray adhesive. It is really easy. It tool 20 minutes to pull off the old headliner from the cardboard and 20 minutes to put the new liner on. The panels around the windows come off real easy (at least mine did) be mindful how the visors come off. They have a small notch you need to line up to screw back in. It literally took me 2 hours to get both visors back on. But it looks beauty an it cost about $65.00. There is a Youtube video. I recommend you watch it. Type in Headliner replacement for truck on youtube. A shop will charge you $300.00. This is a simple job. you will be so proud of yourself when its done.
I also replaced my headliner myself. Actually my truck didn’t even have a headliner, just had a metal roof. I went to a junkyard and found a ‘89 XLT Supercab like mine and gingerly pulled it out. Then I just went to a fabric store and bought some really nice fabric and I used the 3M fabric adhesive spray and molded the fabric over the headliner. I also watched a YouTube video how to do it. It came out incredibly well and I was so impressed with myself. :-) I do concur with a previous comment about being careful to remember each screw that you take out and how to put it back in. The visors were very difficult to reattach. All in all it was worth learning how to do it and saving some money.
