Let give you the straight scoop on Teflon(PTFE). Teflon comes in many forms and yes, some of them require a bake in the 725 F range and that does not insure adhesion without the use of a special Teflon primer. However, there are low molecular weight Teflons that do not require a bake or the use of a primer because they are similar to wax. They can be applied at room temperature and once they are burnished(polished) they become clear and adhere very well. I doubt there is any advantage to using the low molecular weight Teflons over standard automotive wax and the cost is considerably more. If you want to say I have a Teflon coating on my truck, then go for it, but don't expect anything more than a good wax job.
