2011 2.3l clutch fan delete?

I have a 2011 2.3l that has a clutch fan and a electric fan . Has anyone ditch the clutch fan and just keep the electric fan ? Is the electric fan just for the AC or is it both ?
Im thinking of ditching the clutch and running my fan to a switch so it can run more often to gain a litte more HP with out the clutch fan .
I have no AC so not worried about that .

I have been thinking about this recently. the electric fan is for the a/c condenser. I have thought about wiring up the electric fan to a fan controller. The Davies Craig 0444 fan controller is the one I was looking at, It has an a/c override mode, so the fan will turn on with the a/c. I have a/c so thats the way i would go. I'm sure you could find a cheaper controller since you dont have a/c. Both jegs and summit sell aluminum diy fan shrouds, That would make the setup a lot cleaner and cool a lot better.

I have pulled and reinstalled my clutch fan. I've driven it in 110 degree weather here in Cali and it's been fine without, while I like a jack of all trades feel with the truck, I took it on some service roads in Norcal and was trying to climb a small steep hill. I got 2 attempts and on the 3rd made it up and noticed my gauge was 2/3 to 3/4 to the hot side. Let it cool down and all was good. So, beware and make sure to use the HVAC controls to keep the ac fan on (or wire it to where it spins while the engine is running) and don't push it too hard without ample air flow

I have done the delete on my 2005 it also has both and I just ran the fan to a switch along with a fuse. I also got rid of shroud around the fan and fabbed up some brackets for the fan since it mounts to the shroud I got rid of. Runs just fine just have to remember to turn the fan off and on each time I drive
