new 07 xl ranger

might be buying one this weekend. 2.3 xl model in p gold color. 5-speed manual. a\c. no frills truck but just what i need to scoot around with and good on gas. paying $11.632.00 for the truck without the extra junk. total should be low $13.000 for everything. nj. test drive on sat. couldnt find one with a manual untill now. most were autos. hope i like it.

Good luck with it. I wouldn't mind having a 2.3 for gas reasons in addition to my 4.0, I couln't part with my baby. Do the 2.3's have any pep or get up & go at all?

who knows how much power they have, if i dont like it im not buying it. maybe ill see a fx off road 4x4 in that red metalic color on the lot?????

They are about the same as the 3.0 just a little slower, but better gas mileage. Another thing to factor though is they are very reliable and if you keep up with maintenance you should be able to go 300K+

Well, the 2.3 with the standard cab and 2WD isn't so slow as to be distracting in daily driving. I think it's a good choice for a "run-about" truck.

Good luck with it and enjoy it! I have a way-too-heavy 3.0 that I'm driving and I can live with it. I love my truck!

the 2.3L DOHC likes to rev.. i havent driven a ranger with that motor, but i've driven the fusion with it, and for a 4 banger it moves.
