Question about Hurst Shifter?

Hi, where's probably the best or cheapest place to buy the Hurst Shift Kit for my 2005 2.3L 4cyl. Ranger? Also, whats the best way to eliminate the rattling nosies that comes from it?

Buy it from Wayne. You wont be able to totally erradicate the rattling and will get used to the little amount it rattles, but some sound deadener in the shifter bezel might help..I say go for it, its a lot better than the sloppy stocker.

I'd say Wayne has the best service and price.
For rattles, make sure you adjust the stops properly. If it still bothers you, try some sound deadening.

George, I had looked at your write up. What I ended up doing is taking the leftover rubber boot that was trimmed off and used it as an isolator. It has done well. Somehow I think putting a silicone bumper on the stops would finish the rattling that was left. The problem is my shifter is buried under the floorboard since putting the body lift on.

Wayne has a hurst and a body lift, i think you just have to use the "shift lifter" to raise the shift lever back up to normal height.

yeah. Its just a metal plate that bolts in between the shift rod and the guts to raise it up. Its covered by the shift boot so nothing is seen.

I bought mine from summit racing, I think it was $199.95. The noise seemed louder at first than it does now, but probably I'm just used to it now. I think this was one of the best upgrades I did. Much, better and more positive shifting than the factory piece.
