Hurst Shifter question....
Hurst Shifter question....
Installed my Hurst shifter a few nights back on my 99 4 banger. It was tough to tell if I needed the spacer or not. It seemed to fit better without, so I went that route.
Shifting is awesome, but 5th and Reverse are still a bit "quirky" to get into. Anyone else have this problem?

it's really noticeable if you need that 1/4" spacer....i mean it's a 1/4". I have no problems with mine. I had to get u sed to shifting with mine......it's fine now., it was me that was the probme with the 5th/reverse quirkyness.
my 1st and 2nd are tight, but seemed to work out a bit. I think 90% of it was adaptabilty/timing issues on my part. I had a 1/2 dozen grinds going into 2nd.
5th is tricky.
I guess if you needed the spacer and didn't use it, it wouldn't work at all.
on the postive note, shifting is great and no leaks.

mine did need the spacer, i cant recall if i had issues with it when i first got it, may just take some getting used to and broke in a little. there is more trans noise but overall a awesome improvement. i waited all last summer for it (backorderd)
