I am trying to put the manifold back on after doing the valve cover gaskets and I can not remember or find where this plug goes. It is not long enough to go anywhere except the area around the back of the head/ intake manifold, but I cant figure it out. Feeling pretty dumb right now...

 

Looks like a 2.3l Duratec engine but your profile shows 2000 2.5l Ranger????

So what year Ranger is this?

Hi Ron, thanks for the response. You nailed it. I couldn't find where it plugged in because the coil was in the box of parts inside the truck, doh! I should have noted this is a 2003 Mazda B2300. I still have the 2000 Ranger 2.5 L. Now maybe I can finish this job.

that is the ignition coil connector dm me if you need help putting that b2300 back together

 

You and Ron are correct. It was the coil plug. The truck is all back together, running well for now. Thank you.

 

Correct, that is the coil pack wire.

Also it's safe to assume it is an early year model, from 01.5-03 as it has an aluminum valve cover
