2001 Ranger slave cylinder bleeding

I’ve removed and bench bled the master cylinder. Reinstalled in vehicle and when I open the bleeder valve on the slave cylinder to gravity bleed no fluid comes out. Not even if I completely remove the bleeder screw. I’m new to the concentric slave cylinder and don’t know how to proceed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Does the level of the reservoir go down when you have the slave’s bleeder open?
The tranny is attached to the engine? If so you may need to pump the petal some to get things started. But you should be able to bleed the slave using only gravity. Be careful you don’t empty the reservoir and suck in air.
