2007 Ranger auto fussy

Hello All:

I have a 2007 Ranger, 4 cylinder, auto trans. It just turned over 100K miles.

The only transmission service I have performed was to drop the pan, replace the filter (AC Delco), and four quarts, or so of Motorcraft Mercon as a top off. This was done at 80K miles.

The symptom is holding 2nd gear longer. Not happening every time I drive, and doesn't matter hot, or cold. It might do this once in a 17 mile drive, or it might do this 3, or 4 times.

Fluid level is fine, no smell, and the fluid color is good.

Any advice before I have a transmission shop check the truck?

Thanks, and have a nice day, Bill

No check engine light, or flashing OD light.

I do have a ODB II reader; anything I can look for with this instrument?

I'll have to find the receipt. Assume latest Motorcraft ATF?

It's kind of important, Mercon isn't the right spec, though shouldn't really cause massive issues, it needs to be MerconV which is much newer.
