4R100 and E4OD with the BW1356

I have been searching all over cant find what I want to know.

Basically I know the 4R100 and the E4OD is the same case.

The E4OD was used first in F250-F350s etc from pre98 trucks with the BW1356.

The 4R100 is used from 99+ Superdutys, Lincoln Navigators etc...

My 4R100 has a 4406 case behind it, I dont want that case, its electric, AWD, and no fixed output!

I can get a BW1356 from an F150 with an AOD on it for pretty cheap. I think it will work on my 4R100 as the housing is the same as an E4OD which also had 1356s mounted to it. But the tail housing maybe different?

From what I have read the 4R100 has a different output shaft size from the E4OD anyone know this for sure?

I think they made a NP283 manual that I could run behind it but that doesnt sound cheap at all. I may as well get a Stak in that case.

Just go ahead and buy the STAK you know that is what you really want and will end up with sooner or later. Plus if you do it now you wont have to later redo the mounting brackets for what ever tcase you end up using behind the motor swap, which equals more down time.

Pish... go with the Atlas-4. Haha...

Also, I love how this thread has gone from a legitimate technical question about Fords, to a convince Beard to spend lots of money thread.

Found a way to get a manual case in my truck. Well that is when they are done with the adapter for Rangers.

I just looked up that STAK 3 speed monster box. Now I have to agree with everyone else and say "buy the stak 3 speed monster box".
