Icon4 the 4x4 sometimes works, sometimes not

the 4x4 sometimes works, sometimes not, simply does not work in the double traction, the switch has already been changed, engine tranfer, front hub ... and when activating the double traction sometimes if it works others it is not even activated in the board, and the signal on the board flashes

The Transfer Case Motor always get dirty and at the minimum needs to be cleaned and lubricated.

PITA, try the cleaning and lubrication of the Transfer Case Motor first, if that doesn't help you will more than likely need a new Transfer Case Actuation Motor. (p/n and actual name I do not know).

My Truck, HAS the problem of not coming out of Low Ranger for a while now, I can get it in 4x Low but not so easy coming out.
I have to jerk the truck back and forth with the 4x Switch Off, sometimes it pops out sometime I have to drive a little to get it out, sometime it take a good tap on the brakes to loosen her up !

You do well with English, FAR better than I do with Spanish !

I am sorry I can't go too much further in helping you, there are people on this Forum that can help, I thought it would be the Transfer Case Motor.

Did you get a good connection on the Ground Wire ?

Where did you connect the Ground wire to the Transfer Case Motor ?

I know it will be asked, what year truck, what engine ?

What year Ranger?

They changed 4x4 systems every few years from 1983 to 2011 in the North American Rangers, there were 6 different systems

The Flashing 4x4 light means the Switch and the Controller are working, but the 4x4 relay or shift motor are not

The 4x4 light only changes, on or off, when shift motor is in the correct position for the selected "gear", 2WD, 4high or 4low

When you change Switch position the Controller looks at where the shift motor is now, 2WD, 4h or 4l and then activates the shift motor relay to send 12volts to the shift motor to turn it to selected position
If the shift motor does not start to move then Controller will Flash the 4x4 lights, this could be as simple as a blown shift motor fuse, usually in engine fuse box, shift motor has its own fuse

In 1996 the 4x4 controller is the GEM module behind the radio, it is working or 4WD lights would not flash, behind the GEM Module is the Dual Relay Box called electric shift module, it is just 2 relays in a plastic box with 7 wires connected
This box sends power to the shift motor, and if 4WD lights are flashing the motor is not getting power

It should be mounted on firewall behind GEM, so you will need to pull out the radio

Relay box should "CLICK" when you select a gear change, so if you don't hear that click every time you change from 2WD to 4WD and back then relay box is not working
