got a bit of a question. I’m buying a 96 Ranger with the 302 swapped in it and the trans to install is an SROD. Will the shifter fit in the same hole as the M5OD or will I need to create a hole closer to the seat or closer to the dash? I do apologize if it sounds like I know nothing about this because I don’t think this is gonna be my first time installing this transmission. Any advice and any answers will help.

 

If it's from a F-150 it will be in the same spot.

If it's from a Mustang it will be between the seats.

 

do you know why the mustang srod is longer than the f150 version?
