Accidentally shifted from 3rd to Reverse

My dad just bought me a '95 Ford Ranger XLT with a manual tranny in it. Today I accidentally shifted from 3rd to Reverse and the transmission made a grinding noise. (I know I'm an idiot) The truck was going about 30mph. I was in reverse for a very little amount of time (5 seconds) before I put the car back in neutral. How much damage do you think has been done to the transmission? Do you think if will go in reverse the next time try?

Go on a little drive through all of the gears.

And this time, STOP before shifting it into reverse lol.

Listen for any weird noises while in any forward gear and reverse.

Doesn't reverse have a lockout?

Lockout prevents 5th to reverse, not 3rd to reverse. Go try it, I'm guessing it will work.
