Bad Gas?

Hi! I own a 1999 extended cab Ranger 3L 4WD with the M5OD trans and flex fuel. I was recently under the impression my fuel pump had gone out as the pump had started screaming. I took of the bed in the parking lot of my apartment and the ring that holds the pump in was shattered and the pump wasn't seated properly. i performed a sanity check with a fuel pressure test and that came out solid but when I relieved the pressure the gas came out cloudy and smelled sweet. after a panic attack about the head gasket I figured i should ask the fourms if there was any chance in the world coolant would be pushed back into the fuel rail. I began to otherwise assume bad gas. will be running a compression test but need someone to tell me i'm out of my mind while i let the battery charge. thanks so much appreciate the help in advance

Welcome to the forum

1999 Ranger will run 55- 60psi fuel pressure

No, there is no way for coolant to get into the fuel system, except past the gas cap and filler tube........................

All gasoline has water in it, "bad gas" has too much water in it, if in doubt add a can of octane boost or HEET to the tank, it is mostly ethanol and it can bond with the water and allow it to burn in the engine instead of causing misfires
