chevy 4x4 question

I replaced wheel bearing on a 87 chevy 4x4 1/2 ton. Now when u drive it the wheels are getting really hot. i set the preload on the wheel bearing at 10 inch pounds. Is this to much ??

did you fully pack the hubs with grease

and if you did what type of grease did you use

( you need to use heavy duty , extreme pressure bearing grease )
