Need help with auto hubs
I just bought my 94 ranger a couple of months ago and the transfer case shift motor would'nt work, I finally fixed that tonite and went to try the 4wd out and while trying to climb a muddy hill, the front wheels were not spinning. It would go into 4 lo but the front wheels would still not spin, I almost got stuck lol. Anyways I don't have the money for a manual conversion right now, does anyone know where I can find a tech article to repair them or even make it where they are locked in all the time. I've never worked on any 4wd components before I got this truck, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Billy

you could try spraying the insides real good with wd-40. i swapped mine out for milemarker manual hubs 2 years ago. mine would sometimes lock, and sometimes only 1 would unlock. having "iffy" hubs is never a good thing. i wish they made drive flanges, there is a way you can dissassemble the auto hubs and weld something together to make your auto hubs permantly locked. not sure where i saw it, maybe at therangerstation.com i leave my manual hubs locked in most of the winter inless im going on a long trip and the roads are clear.

Well on your 1994 Warn manual hubs with the nut kit is your first step. next is clean the shift motor on the t-case

Do you have the vacuum hubs? I know these can be problematic. Here is a good source for tech articles. I know they talk about 98-00 rangers, Im not sure if your 94 is the same.
