Does a 98 ranger have the 8.8 rearend???

Does a 98 ranger have the 8.8 rearend???

looking to get some 4.10 gears for my rig, but they will only fit on 8.8 rearend. My specifics are in my sig.

You have the 8.8 as long as its the stock rear end.

Since it's a 4.0L 4x4, it should have come from the factory with an 8.8. You can verify that by checking the axle code on the certification label on the DS door. Look up the axle code here and you'll know what it was built with.
