Elevtronic 4x4 Actuator

I actually have a 1990 Bronco II but it should be identical to a 1990 Ranger. When I crank it up, the transfer case will clunk and the 4x4 light will come on. Just a second or 2 later another clunk and the LOW RANGE light will come on. If I press the dash 4x4 button the 4x4 light will go off and when I press the 4x4 LOW button the LOW RANGE light will go off. A few more seconds and it will engage 4x4 and low range again all by itself.

Any ideas?

Thank you

Reads like control module issue
In Rangers it was behind drivers seat mounted to back of cab
In a B2 maybe behind side panel, behind drivers door, but not sure

Article to test them here: https://www.therangerstation.com/tec...is-1994-older/
