Hey,

Just got a used tranny in my 05 Ranger 4.0 V6 Auto 4x4.

The used tranny had 26k miles and came out of a 04 ranger 4x4.

Used tranny came with torque converter.


I have not driven the ranger in a few weeks, but it's doing something funny.

It is driving, and reversing. When you have the truck in Neutral and you put the A/C on MAX. The engine RPM's dont drop much, just a tiny bit showing engagement.

When the truck is in Drive, and the A/C is put on MAX the Engine RPM's drop from 750RPM to 500RPM then bounce back up to 750RPM, then drop back down to 500 RPM. This RPM drop happens when you hear the compressor clutch click on and off.

It is when you are at idle, with brakes on.

Truck seems to have a bit of a lack of power, but that could be that I have been driving my 06 mustang for the last few weeks, and i'm not used to it.

Any ideas? I'm trying to figure this out, I need the truck to be back in running shape!
