Front Driveshaft, Year Compatibility

Over the past week, I pulled the transmission to rebuild it - and was shocked with the number of failed bearings inside the M5R1. Fixed the transmission, but damaged the front driveshaft.

What year front driveshafts will interchange with a 2011? I'm finding conflicting information.

Manual transmission, 4.0L, Super Cab if any of that matters.

Thanks,
-Sean

98-12 will fit they all have the CV type joint. It might be worth upgrading to the older double cardone joint. Just to to the junk yard and grab a shaft and the yoke off of a 95-01 Ford explorer and unbolt the t-case yoke/output shaft. It's a stronger shaft style, plus you can rebuild it with u-joints.
This tutorial will explain in better detail. https://www.ranger-forums.com/engine...output-113930/
