Front wheel squeal
Front wheel squeal
I have an 07 fx4 4x4 and every so often i get a front wheel squeal sound at low speeds goes away at about 60km/hr or when i tap the brakes,
I just got this truck back in december so not to familiar with it overall i have read peoples posts about wheel bearings going, but i have no grinding noise and it stops when braking or higher speeds, could it be brake rotors touching pads? Like my calipers not fully releasing?
Any thoughts would be great
Thx

You can check the bearing a few ways.
Jack the truck up and grab the top and bottom of the wheels. And see if it moves. Movement is not good.
Second way to check. Grab the CV shaft and rotate it. if it has a lot of play and the wheel doesn't move much the bearing is going bad.

Another thing to check out is the inside hub seal. I have gotten a light kind of squeal from mine after being off road when they get dried out from the dust. I spray a liquid lubricant on them and the noise goes away.
If it is a loud squeal, it is probably not that seal.
